Lynn Marie
Dolphay
May 10, 1950 – June 2, 2019
Lynn Hamblock Dolphay passed away Sunday, June 2, 2019 surrounded by family and friends who loved her at Northern Montana Hospital in Havre, MT. Cremation has taken place and a celebration of life will take place Sunday, June 16 from 1- 3 at the Eagles' Club. Holland and Bonine Funeral Home has been entrusted with arrangements. Please visit Lynn's online memorial page and leave a message of condolence for her family at www.hollandbonine.com .
Lynn was born on May 10, 1950 to Donald and Donna Hamblock in Havre. Her childhood was spent on the family farm north of Havre joined by her big brother, Erv, and her little sister, Debra. She told many stories of a happy childhood, the fun they had camping in tents in the Bear Paw Mountains, sometimes needing winter coats in July! They loved drive-inn movies, too. Don and Donna would load up the kids in their pajamas and head to town for a movie. One night they came home to find their house on fire!
Lynn loved to travel. She joined some of her classmates for a trip to Europe when she was in high school. She took the bare minimum of clothing so she had room in her suitcase for her favorite pillow! She took several trips to Hawaii making sure her children and grandchildren all got to go with her at least once. She also took Janee to Las Vegas to celebrate her birthday.
Lynn graduated from Havre High School in 1968 and attended Northern Montana College. She met her one true love, Wayne Dolphay, and they were married in Pepin Park on September 7, 1974. They raised their children, Janee and Jeffrey, on the family farm taking over for her parents when they retired. She worked at several different jobs over the years starting as a waitress at Woolworths and then out to Bud's Drive Inn where she helped name the now famous "Ugly Burger!" She ended up at the State Highway Department where she worked until she was ready for retirement.
Her favorite role in life was being a mom and grandmother. After losing Wayne in 2017, her days were spent loving her children and grandchildren. She cooked a big meal every Sunday evening so they could have that family time that meant so much to her. Hopefully they will always feel that love she was so happy to give each of them. She may be physically gone from their lives, but she remains in their hearts forever!
Lynn was preceded in death by her father, Donald, in 2007; her mother, Donna, in 2017; and her husband, Wayne, in 2017.
She is survived by her children, Janee Dolphay and Jeff (Hannah) Dolphay; her four grandchildren, Kelsey Dolphay, Kolby Finchum, Kassidy Finchum, and Madison Dolphay; one great-grandson, Weston Finchum; her brother Erv (Cheryl) Hamblock; her sister, Debra (Tom) Henriksen; special friends, Mary Reilly Smith and Christina Parsons; and many cousins, nieces, and nephews.
Memorials in Lynn's honor may be sent to the Havre Animal Shelter at 520 4 th Street or to The Friends of Beaver Creek Park at 17863 Beaver Creek Road.
