Lorraine "Junebug" Faye Burns (Peterson), 80, of Babb, passed away on July 21, 2024. Wake services begin on Wednesday, July 24, 2024, at Michael (Whitey) Burns' residence in Babb. Rosaries will take place Friday, July 26th at 8:00 PM. The funeral service will take place on Saturday, July 27, 2024, at 11:00, also at Whitey's residence, with burial to follow at the Burns Family Cemetery.  Holland & Bonine Funeral Home has been entrusted with arrangements.

Lorraine was born on February 20, 1944, in Browning, MT to Justine Flammond and George Peterson. She was raised on Moccasin Flat in Babb. She graduated from Browning High School in 1962 and married Robert (Bob) Burns shortly after graduating. From this marriage, came four sons: Stormy, Whitey, Hunter, and Lil Bob. Junebug helped run the Babb Bar between 1974-1988. Lorraine and Robert divorced in 1989 and Lorraine left Babb and worked and lived around the state working various jobs. Lorraine achieved many successes during her lifetime which included attending college at Northern Montana College and Everett Eaton Technical Institute in Washington. She retired from the Office of Public Instruction (OPI) in Helena in 2010. Lorraine was recognized and received several promotions during her tenure at OPI.

Lorraine's passions and hobbies included gambling, playing marbles, crocheting, sewing, and most importantly spending time with her family, especially her 18 grandchildren, 39 great grandchildren, and 5 great-great grandchildren.

Lorraine is survived by her sons, Stormy (Georgia) and Whitey (Tina) of Babb, Hunter (Mary) of Box Elder; sisters, Evelyn Atwood and Betty (Bill) Fenner of Babb, and Lois Debates of Washington; brothers, Jerry Peterson of Valier and Walter (JR) Peterson of Babb.

She was preceded in death by her son, Robert (Lil Bob) Burns; granddaughter, Rylin Burns; brothers, Roddy and Kenny Peterson; and sisters, Pearl Simons and Lillian Whitford.
