Obituary

Lorena Rose Four Souls, 72, passed away at her residence due to natural causes on Sunday, July 9, 2017. Wake services will begin at 5:00 p.m. on Monday, July 10, 2017, and will continue until her funeral service which will be at 10:00 a.m. on Tuesday, July 11, 2017, all at St. Mary's Catholic Church. Burial will follow in the Rocky Boy Cemetery. Holland & Bonine Funeral Home has been entrusted with services and arrangements. Lorena was born on May 24, 1945, in Fort Washakie, Wyoming, to Benjamin and Eleanor (Wesaw) Carrier. She lost her parents at an early age, and was adopted by her grandparents who raised her in Fort Washakie, where she attended elementary school. For the 8 th grade, she attended Flandreau Indian School, but returned home after the 8 th grade to care for her ailing grandparents. In 1963, Lorena married Henry Four Souls, and the couple made their home between Fort Washakie, Wyoming, and Rocky Boy, Montana. Lorena was blessed with six children, and worked for many years as a dispatcher in law enforcement.

She loved to travel, play Hand Game, and bead; but her favorite pastimes included spending time with her grandchildren and participating in traditional ceremonies.

She was preceded in death by her beloved husband Henry Four Souls, Sr.; her four grandchildren, Gracelynn and Adel Black Hair, Alimeda Four Souls, and Shawn Saddler, Jr.; her parents Benjamin and Eleanor Carrier; and her brother Norcees Carrier, Sr.

Lorena is survived by her children, Helen Ward of WY, and LaRae Four Souls, Henry (Ruth) Four Souls, Jr., Allesandro "Tom" Four Souls, Delmer "DJ" (Gina) Four Souls, Evelyn (Frederick) Four Souls, Lorena Rose "Roses" Four Souls II, and Amanda Four Souls, all of Rocky Boy; her 26 grandchildren; her 12 great-grandchildren; her siblings Wallace (Ida) Carrier of WI, and Yates Carrier and Irvina Histia, both of WY; her aunt Roberta Engavo of WY; her uncle Willard Ballard of ID; and numerous adopted siblings, nieces, nephews, cousins, and other extended family and friends.
