Lloyd James Cleland, 62, died Monday August 1, 2011 at his home in Box Elder, Montana after a battle with heart complications. His wake service will begin this evening with his funeral service 10 a.m. Tuesday all at the Rocky Boy Catholic Church. Burial will follow at the Rocky Boy Cemetery. Services and arrangements have been entrusted to Holland & Bonine Funeral Home. Lloyd was born June 10, 1949 at Fort Belknap Agency to Virginia and William LaMere. He was raised and educated on the Rocky Boy Indian Reservation. He attended Rocky Boy, Box Elder and Flandreau Schools. He worked for the Cascade County Health Department in the Sanatation Division. He retired in 2004 after working there for 32 years. Lloyd enjoyed playing BINGO, attending Pow-wows, vistiting with people and spending time with his family and grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents and two sons. Lloyd is survived by his daughter: Donna (Sonny) Raining Bird of Box Elder, Montana. Sons: Keith Allen (Jewel)Laverdure of Great Falls, Montana; Lloyd James (Manz) Cleland Jr. of Rocky Boy, Montana and Michael Lee Cleland of Great Falls, Montana. Sisters: Eleanor Skinner, Joann Ahenakew, Wilma "Corky" Corcoran all of Rocky Boy, Montana. Kay (Jim) Finley of Arlee, Montana and Virgelene (J.R.) Raya of Great Falls, Montana.
