Obituary

Linda Lee Gonsalez, 76, passed away due to natural causes at her residence on Friday, April 2, 2021.  Wake services will begin at 2:00 p.m. on Sunday, April 4, 2021, at the Babb Methodist Church, and will continue until her funeral service, which will be at 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday, April 6, 2021.  Burial will follow in the Babb Cemetery with her beloved husband Raymond John Gonsalez.  Holland & Bonine Funeral Home has been entrusted with arrangements.

Linda was born on September 4, 1944, in Browning to Henry and Mary Ann (Flammond) Whitford.  She was raised in Babb, attending school in Babb and Browning.  On October 1, 1964, Linda married Raymond John Gonsalez in Cardston, Alberta, Canada, and the couple had three daughters.  They moved to Rocky Boy in 1979 and opened the Village Grocery, which they operated for over twenty years.  She sold the store, and began working for the Rocky Boy schools as a kitchen aid in 2010, retiring in 2019.

Linda enjoyed beading, sewing, cooking, and camping.  She was an avid supporter of her children, nieces, nephews, and other youth in their many endeavors.  And Linda absolutely adored her grandchildren, spending every moment possible with them.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Raymond Gonsalez in 2016; daughter, Stacey Gonsalez in 2014; parents, Henry and Mary Ann Whitford; and brothers, Blue, Larry, and Les Whitford, and Ken Flammond.

Linda is survived by her daughters, Jamie Gonsalez of Rocky Boy and Kodi Owens of Artesia, New Mexico; nine grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; siblings, D. A. Harwood of Havre, Kit Whitford of Browning, Sam (Shirley) Whitford of Babb, Peter Whitford of Cut Bank, Hootie (Rick Weekes) Miller of Havre, Tracy Galbreath of Cut Bank, Marion Whitford of Babb, Roxanne Johnson of Babb, Twila Herrera of Rocky Boy, Sheri Black Weasel of Browning, and Kim Henderson of Havre; and numerous cousins, nieces, nephews, and other extended family and friends.
