Obituary

Linda Kay Demontiney "Screeching Thunder Bird Woman" died March 15, 2011 at her home in Rocky Boy A traditional Native American Wake is underway at the Rocky Boy Catholic Church and will continue until service time at the Church with Fr. Pete Guthnick presiding. The Funeral Mass will be 10 A.m. Thursday at the Rocky Boy Catholic Church. Burial will follow at the Rocky Boy Cemetery. Linda was born September 22, 1944 in Havre to Joe Demontiney Sr. & Delia ( Four Souls) Demontiney. She spent her younger years with her grandparents, Mary Four Souls and Four Souls. She lived many years in Pryor, MT. raising her 3 children. Linda attended and graduated from Haskell Institute in Lawrence Kansas in 1963. Linda worked as a cook at Plenty Coups High School and later for the Rocky Boy Head start. Linda was preceded in death by her baby Shawn Lee Smart Enemy; her father Joe Demontiney Sr; grandparents Four Souls, Mary Four Souls; Ruther Earth Walker, Pete Demontiney, grandson James Sangrey; nephews Bryan Golpher, Darwin & Nicholas Demontiney Linda is survived by two children: Barney (Bertha) Smart Enemy of Pryor, MT; daughter Crystal (Carey Dean) Smart Enemy of Billings; Delia Lynn Demontiney (whom she raised as her own); Her mother Delia Demontiney; brothers- Peter (Victoria) Demontiney; Joe Jr (Melinda) Demontiney; Jim (Peggy) Demontiney; Pete "Bummy" (Jodi) Demontiney; Sisters: Jeanette Demontiney, Yvonne Demontiney all of Rocky Boy; Sue Demontiney of Belcourt, N.D; Natalie Demontiney, Mary Demontiney, Hayley Demontiney, Fern (Gary) Doney all of Rocky Boy; Dola (Marvin) Belcourt of Spokane, WA; Adopted sister Wilma (Kermit) Morsette. Aunts: Joyce Foursouls, Zela Nault; her uncle Bruce Sun Child. 7 Grandchildren: Taleshia, Patricia, Alton, Shawn Renee, Darian Smart Enemy; Shelby, Cynthia Hill 2 Great Grandchildren: Samuel Smart Enemy & Cashius Smart Enemy. Numerous nieces and nephews, grandchildren and great grandchildren.
