Lewis L. Dielman, 86, passed away on Saturday, May 5, 2018, at his residence due to natural causes.  Cremation has taken place, and private family memorial services will be held on the family farm at a later date.  Holland & Bonine Funeral Home has been entrusted with arrangements.  Please visit Lewis' online memorial page and leave a message of condolence for his family at www.hollandbonine.com .

Lewis was born on January 13, 1932, in Havre to George and Alverta (Linn) Dielman.  He was raised in the Box Elder area, attending the Box Elder public schools.  Following graduation, he attended Northern Montana College for a year.  After his school years, he worked hard on the family farm and also worked for the Box Elder Public Schools as a bus driver and mechanic.  Lewis retired as the transportation supervisor and as a farmer in 1995.

For many years, Lewis served on the Box Elder Volunteer Fire Department.  He was also active in old car clubs in Montana, and a member of several national car and truck clubs.  He was the past president of the Big Sky Car Club in Havre and the Hi-Line Antique Auto Club.  He was also the Past Grand Patriarch of the Grand Encampment Independent Order of Odd Fellows, Past Grand of Big Sandy #124 IOOF MT, a member of Covenant #6 IOOF (Missoula) after Big Sandy #124 was dissolved, and Crescent #14 Encampment IOOF.  Lewis also served as a board member (Vice President) of the Box Elder Water and Sewer District.

He was preceded in death by his first wife Amanda J. (Clark) Dielman; second wife Catherine A. (Carter) Dielman; daughter Georgia C. Dielman; step-daughter Virginia A. Lee-MacDonald; parents George C. and Alverta M. (Linn) Dielman; and uncle Byron B. Dielman.

Lewis is survived by his children Alverta "Alvie" Dielman (Leroy Lee) of Statesville, NC, L. Linn Dielman, Jr. of Columbia Falls, MT, and Mark R. Dielman of Box Elder.
