Les Chagnon, age 67, passed away unexpectedly of natural causes on July 12, 2024. He was born in Havre, Montana on July 7th 1957 to Carol and Paul Chagnon. Funeral services will be held at Holland and Bonine Funeral Home, 210 3rd St., Havre, Montana on Wednesday July 24th at 2:00 PM.

Les was raised in Havre and graduated from Havre High in 1975 with honors. Les went on to graduate from the University of Montana in Missoula.

After obtaining his degree, he worked at St James Hospital in Butte for many years as head of the purchasing department. Les was very involved in community events in Butte and participated in Butte's Big Band with his trumpet.

In 2004, Les left the hospital and bought the Vu Villa Bar in Butte. He renovated it and had a very successful business. The Vu Pizza was known to be the best. In 2009, he sold the bar and restaurant and retired.

In retirement, Les enjoyed traveling south, taking Mom and Dad on many trips. He enjoyed stopping at casinos and spending time with family. Les was always generous to family and friends.

Les was preceded in death by his parents and is survived by his siblings, Leon (Sandi), Candy (Dave), Carla (Dan) and Lindon (Nita). Les is also survived by many nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends who he considered family.

The family suggests memorials be made to the Dinosaur exhibit at the H. Earl Clack Museum or donor's choice.  Holland & Bonine Funeral Home has been entrusted with services and arrangements.
