Leonard J. Weaving, Sr., 83, passed away due to natural causes on Tuesday, August 16, 2016, at his residence.

Leonard was born on August 24, 1932, in Lakeport, CA, to John and Mildred (Dashiel) Weaving. He was raised there, graduating from Fremont High School in Oakland in 1950. Upon graduation, Leonard enlisted in the US Air Force, and served faithfully until his honorable discharge in 1953. On January 30, 1955, Leonard married Margaret Writing Bird in Tijuana, Mexico, and to their union was born five children. Leonard worked for Aryshire Dairy, first in Great Falls, then relocating to Rocky Boy to work for the dairy in Havre in 1978. The couple remained in Rocky Boy after Leonard retired, and Margaret passed away.

Leonard enjoyed hunting, fishing, and playing the machines. In recent years, reading, especially books by Louis L'Amour and Tony Hillerman, struck his fancy. He was an avid football fan, and if the Young and the Restless was on, you were dismissed until it was over.

He was preceded in death by his wife Margaret "Margy" Weaving; his parents, John and Mildred Weaving; and his brother Don Weaving.

Leonard is survived by his children, Sonja Weaving of Polson, and Lorrie (Tim) Rosette, Leonard Weaving, Jr., Jack Weaving, Russell Weaving, Mary Big Bow, Don Hess, and James (Sandra Taylor) Seymour, all of Rocky Boy; many grandchildren and great-grandchildren; his siblings JoAnn Glaser of Sacramento, CA, and his brother Jim Weaving of Modesto, CA; and numerous beloved cousins, nieces, nephews, and other extended family and friends.
