Obituary

Leonard J. "Lenny" Livesay, 69, of Havre, passed away on Wednesday, September 26, 2012, in Denver Colorado, due to complications from leukemia. Cremation has taken place, and graveside services will be held on Saturday, October 6, 2012, at 10:30 a.m. at Highland Cemetery in Havre. There will be a time of fellowship at the Tip-It Bar following the graveside service. The family has requested that memorials be made in Lenny's name to the charity of the donor's choice. Holland & Bonine Funeral Home has been entrusted with services and arrangements. Lenny was born on October 20, 1942, in Havre, Montana, to Lawrence and Martha (Pearce) Livesay. He enlisted in the US Navy, Honorable Discharge in 1967. He worked for the Forest Service in California, then returned to Montana and worked at Big Bud from 1970-73, farming/ranching from 1971-75, and Schubert Brothers from 1975-78. In 1978, he went to work for the railroad as a boilermaker/welder and retired in 2001. He loved to take his morning drive and his dogs were his life. He was a loving person with a great sense of humor, a great listener, and a caretaker. Lenny also had a knack for storytelling, and was a great judge of character. He was a generous man who would give someone the shirt off his back if they needed it, and he was loved and respected by many people. He was preceded in death by his parents and two nephews, Kelly Livesay and Scott Berg. Lenny is survived by his brothers Larry (Linda) Livesay of Yreka, GA, Bob (Jan) Livesay of Great Falls, MT, and Dick (Korrene) Livesay of Clancy, MT; his sisters Mary (Jim) Berg and Carol (Marty) Jappe, all of Havre, MT; three nieces; seven nephews; his step-son Jim Hayward of WA; and his step-daughter Shannon (John) Vauthier of Havre, MT.
