Leon Jennings
Cochran
December 18, 1991 – April 23, 2021
Leon Jennings Cochran was born on December 18, 1991 in Havre, Montana to Arlene Ann Healy and Leon "Bart" Cochran. He passed away April 23, 2021 in Billings, Montana.
Leon was also known as "Taz", a nickname given to him by his Grandma Tiny when he was a baby because he was always running all over the house like a little tornado getting into mischief.
Taz loved spending time with his family. If he wasn't at home, he was at his Auntie Angie's house hanging out with his cousins. Even as a little boy, he was a free spirit and did what he wanted not realizing the consequences.
He also loved going out to 3-Mile to ride horses and drive 4 wheelers with his cousins.
Taz attended school in Havre until 2003 when his family moved to Ft. Belknap. He attended school in Harlem until his Sophmore year. He then attended YouthBuild in Havre getting his GED and learning carpentry.
In March 2011, his first pride and joy Koden Leon was born.
In 2013 he met Lexi Lee Kirkaldie and they were married on August 23 rd , 2014. From this marriage they were blessed with 2 children, Cooper Jennings and Lucille Rose. His children were the loves of his life and he adored each of them.
Taz loved mechanic work. He was always twisting bolts and giving a helping hand when needed. He had a heart of gold and would help anyone.
He was preceded in death by his grandfathers, Leon Jennings Cochran, James Berger Sr., and Charles "Chicken" Werk; great-grandmothers, Grandma Boots (Eva Ellis), Dolores (Brisbo) Healy, and Marie Cochran; great-grandfathers, Raymond Ellis, William "Bud" Healy, and William "Willy" Cochran; cousins Mikki Le' Campbell, Gordon Cochran, and Billie Rae Snell; brother, Leon William Cochran; infant aunt, Cindy Lee Cochran; infant uncle, Jordan Cochran; maternal uncles, Tommy Healy-Berger, and Wayne and David Healy; and paternal uncles, Sherman Cochran, Tommy Cochran, Grant Cochran, and William "Billy" Cochran.
Taz is survived by his parents, Leon "Bart" and Arlene Cochran; sister Leondra "Chuckee" Rose (Scott Smith) Cochran; brothers, William Raymond (Megan Blauwkamp) Cochran and James Dean (Makenna Le Mere) Cochran; paternal grandmother, Dorothy Cochran and maternal grandmother Elaine Healy-Berger Valdez; paternal uncles, Frank (Joleen) Cochran and Michael (Susie) Cochran; paternal aunts BethAnn Cochran, Tanya Cochran, Carma (Marty) McConnell, and Twila Marie Cochran; maternal uncles, James (Damien) Healy-Berger and Charles Mathew (Velvet) Werk II; maternal aunts, Angela (Frank) Welch, Audrey (Arden) Flansburg, Debra Kaye (Joe Boy) Morsette, and Terri Healy; and numerous cousins, nephews and nieces.
Taz had the craziest personality and the best sense of humor. He loved to tease everyone.
He made sure to tell his loved ones how much he loved them and would give the best bear hugs. Everyone loved him, whether it was his close family or a friend. He had a big, gorgeous smile and fancied himself a ladies' man. He was a good storyteller, and could make anyone believe what he was saying was true no matter how unbelievable it was.
Taz, we still love and miss you each and every day and will for the rest of our lives. Although our hearts are shattered, we are happy to have three pieces of you to cherish forever.
