Obituary

LaVern Joan Perkins, 77, passed away Thursday, October 26, 2023, in Havre, Montana at the Northern Montana Hospital after a battle with lung cancer. Two Celebration of Life Services will be held. One in Broadus and the other in Havre. The Broadus service will be 2 p.m. Friday, November 17, 2023, at Stevenson & Sons Funeral Home 101 Wilson Street, Broadus, MT 59317, her burial will follow at the Valley View Cemetery and a reception will be held at the Stevenson & Sons Funeral Home. The Havre service will be 10 a.m. Monday, November 20, 2023, at the Holland & Bonine Funeral Chapel 210 3rd Street Havre, Montana 59501. Memorials in LaVern's honor may be made to Hi-Line Sletten Cancer Institute in Havre. They were a source of ongoing support during her cancer journey. LaVern was born May 5, 1946, in Miles City, Montana to Elmer and Lydia (Hulford) Watters. She attended and graduated from Broadus High School. She married Glenn Perkins of Gillette Wyoming on February 12, 1966. They made their home in Broadus, MT and raised three children. She attended Miles City Community College and later in life attended MSU-Northern to further her education when they moved to Havre, MT in 1990. She went to work at Walmart in Havre where she was the customer service representative. LaVern enjoyed crocheting, gardening, sewing and rock collecting.

She was preceded in death by her parents, one brother Frank Watters and three grandchildren: Marc DeLaurier, Kable Williams and Tel Perkins.

LaVern is survived by her husband Glenn Perkins. Her children: Starlaen Perkins, Loren (Dee) Perkins and Nichcol (Kevin) Harrell. Her siblings: Virginia Pierce, Cora (Gary) Bynum, Clinton Watters, Darlene (Jim) Hance and Mable Lane. Grandchildren: Hayden (Mandy) Williams, Stormi Williams, Christian DeLaurier, Kyle DeLaurier, Skylar DeLaurier, Jasmine Harrell, Racquel Harrell, William Harrell and Cydney Dolson. Great Grandchildren: Saint Williams, Shia Williams, Aila Perkis and Leon DeLaurier.
