Born and raised in Rocky Boy, Montana, Lauren carried her homeland in her heart throughout her life. She left the Rocky Boy Reservation in her early elementary years, eventually finding a second home in Spokane — a city where she grew, thrived, and built lifelong friendships. Lauren was known for her trust, dependability, strength, love, and compassion. She was the kind of person who gave without hesitation, who showed up when others needed her, and who carried a heart far bigger than we can comprehend. Her nieces and nephews were the joy of her life, and she embraced her role as “T” with pride, humor, and endless affection.

Growing up, Lauren formed deep bonds with friends from Ridgeview Elementary, Glover Middle School, and The Community School, connections that stayed with her into adulthood. She later graduated from Spokane Community College, earning her Associate of Applied Science in Paralegal Studies, a milestone she worked hard for and celebrated proudly.

Lauren expressed herself through creativity and care. She loved showing off her cooking skills and sharing meals with her family. She created bold graffiti art, perfected her makeup looks, and curated a large collection of name‑brand perfumes that reflected her vibrant personality. She took pride in being a good woman, an amazing daughter, a one‑of‑a‑kind sister, and the best auntie her nieces and nephews could ever ask for. Her soundtrack was always R&B, and some of her happiest moments were spent taking spontaneous drives around Spokane, windows down, music up, watching the sun melt into the horizon.

Lauren is survived by her mother Caroline, her father Garrick, and her bonus dad Anthony Whiteclay. She was a beloved sister to Garylee, Taylor, Anthony, Eryn, Junior, Robert, Keith, and Treyton. She was the cherished granddaughter of Renee and Ervinal Denny, and Judy and Charlie Wood. She was a loving niece to Ervinal Jr., Shelley, Cori, Loren, Lyman, and Donny.

As “T,” she adored her nieces and nephews: Alton, Layla, Akilah, Nakayla, Riley, Sage Jr., Trey Jr., Sofia, and Brandon Lee. Lauren also had many cousins both on the Rocky Boy Reservation and in Spokane, all of whom held a special place in her heart. Lauren’s life was full of love, color, and connection.

She will be remembered for her warmth, her generosity, and the way she made people feel seen and cared for. Her legacy lives on in the countless people who were touched by her presence.
