Obituary

Kyle Little Owl Duran, Ki-hew "Eagle", 38, passed away at his residence due to natural causes on Tuesday, July 30, 2024.  Wake services will begin at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday, August 1, 2024, and will continue until his funeral service, which will be at 10:00 a.m. on Friday, August 2, 2024, all at Our Saviour's Lutheran Church.  Burial will follow in the Duran Family Cemetery.  Holland & Bonine Funeral Home has been entrusted with arrangements.

Kyle was born on December 23, 1985, in Havre to Wilford and Gloria (Little Owl) Duran.  He was raised in Helena during his early and elementary school years, and then Havre during junior high and high school, graduating from Havre High School in 2004. In 2006, Kyle had a daughter.   He went on to obtain his associate's degree in natural resources and a certificate in geospatial technology from Stone Child College.  While in college, Kyle met Bernie Denny, and the couple began a relationship that lasted the rest of his life.  Together they had three children.  Over the years, he worked as a CNA, surveyor, cook, and a Headstart teacher's assistant.

Kyle was an outgoing, social man who enjoyed throwing dice, fishing, gambling at the casino, and playing horseshoes and board games.  He was a wonderful father who adored his children, and loved doing any activities with them.  Spending time with his friends and family was a preferred pastime, but Kyle also liked to meet new people and just socialize.

He was preceded in death by his father, Wilford Henry Duran; grandparents, Mary Kezar Carrywater, Leon Kezar, Milton Little Owl, and Leo and Elisabeth Duran; and cousins, Ryan Four Souls and Tony Little Owl.

Kyle is survived by his wife, Bernie Denny of Rocky Boy; four children, Amarah Duran of Havre, and McKayla, Darrell, and Lucien Duran of Havre; mother, Gloria (Norman Converse) Duran of Havre; sisters, Rebecca (Jenson) WolfChief, Jennifer (Lyman) WolfChief, and Willdette (Josh LaMere) Duran, all of Box Elder, Brittney Duran of Washington, and Jackie Duran of Box Elder; brothers, Jacob (Toni) Duran of Rocky Boy and Ascencio Duran of Billings; and numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, nephews, and other extended family and friends.
