Kenny D. Thune, 79, passed away due to natural causes at Peace Hospice on Monday, May 13, 2024.  Cremation has taken place, and private services will be held at a later date.  Kenny's family has suggested memorial donations be made to the charity of the donor's choice.  Holland & Bonine Funeral Home has been entrusted with services and arrangements.

Kenny was born on November 7, 1944, in Benson, Minnesota, to Richard and Ruth (Oien) Thune.  He was raised in Binford, ND, until high school when the family moved to Great Falls, Montana.  Kenny graduated from CMR High School, and attended Northern Montana College.  In 1965, he married Peggy Reid, and the couple had two children.  For his entire life, Kenny was a grain elevator operator.  In the early 90s, he and Peggy moved to Chester.  The couple eventually retired in Havre.

Kenny enjoyed fishing, yard work, gopher hunting, drives, family trips, and camping with his family, especially at Cottonwood Creek.  He adored his family.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Peggy Thune, and his parents, Richard and Ruth Thune.

Kenny is survived by his children, Kenneth (Lecia Kelly) Thune of Fort Benton and Melissa (John Hemminger) Thune of Havre; granddaughter, KasSaundra (Aaron Wiese) Thune of Havre; five great-granddaughters; and brothers, Ronnie (Lonnie) Thune of Great Falls and Gary Thune of Lakeside.
