Katie A. Waldner, 87, of Hilldale Colony, passed away on Monday, August 3, 2015, at her residence of natural causes. Funeral services will be held at 12:00 p.m. on Wednesday, August 5, 2015, at Hilldale Colony. Katie was born on September 2, 1927, in Magrath, Alberta, Canada, to Jacob and Sarah (Entz) Waldner. She was raised in Magrath, and moved to Rockport in 1948. She married Andrew J. Waldner in 1950, and the family relocated to Hilldale in 1963, where they remained until her death. She worked as a Kindergarten Teacher for 11 years, and as a waitress for the grade school for 15 years. Katie enjoyed knitting, house chores, and spending time with her large, loving family. She was preceded in death by Andrew Waldner, her beloved husband of 58 years; her granddaughter Clara J. Waldner; her two brothers, Jacob Katie Waldner and George Rebecca Waldner; her sister Rachel J. Waldner; and her daughter-in-law, Sarah J. Waldner. She is survived by her five daughters, Katie A Waldner, Sarah (David) Kleinsasser, Lena (Sam) Kleinsasser, all of Hilldale Colony, Becky (Tim) Hofer of Spring Water Colony, and Elsie A. Waldner of Hilldale Colony; her four sons, Andrew (Katie) Waldner of Hilldale Colony, Jacob (Rosa) Waldner and Joe (Ruth) Waldner, all of Hartland Colony, and John (Clara) Waldner of Hilldale Colony; her 33 grandchildren; her 59 great-grandchildren; her sisters Sarah (Joe) Wipf, Susie (Jacob) Hofer, and Mary (John) Kleinsasser; her brothers John (Mary) Waldner, Peter (Katie) Waldner, and Joe (Mary) Waldner; and numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins. Our deepest gratitude goes out to the Northern Montana Hospital nursing staff and Marilyn with Bear Paw Hospice for their kind, compassionate care of Katie.
