Obituary

Katharine "Kathy " Marie Mayer, 80, became the most beautiful and amazing angel on Thursday , April 10,2025 at Northern Montana Hospital .
Cremation has taken place and a graveside service will be held at a later date .
Kathy was born December 13, 1944 in Anaheim, California to John and Virginia (Ward) Dingle . She was raised in California and Fairfax, Virginia .She graduated high school in Fairfax and also went to some college after graduating .
Kathy met Francis "Butch " Mayer while he was a male nurse taking care of Kathy's father, the Commander, John Dingle  at Bethesda Naval Hospital in Maryland . They got married on December 2, 1967 in the chapel at the naval hospital .
Kathy was pregnant with her first child, daughter, Lori , while Butch was stationed over in Viet Nam . After Butch came home from the military they moved back to Butch's hometown of Havre,Montana where Butch went to college to become a teacher . While there they had their second child, another daughter, Virginia "Gina ". They moved to Whitewater, Mt. , in 1974 where Butch got a teaching job and Kathy was a speech aide .
Kathy was very talented in sewing and crafting and she always had a project to finish and many more to start . While her Granddaughter was a baby she had to make her clothes as she was a preemie and there were no clothes that would fit her .
Kathy was preceded in death by her parents, her husband , Butch, her daughter Gina Williams and her brothers John and Jeff Dingle of Virginia .
Kathy is survived by her daughter , Lori Mayer of Havre . Her Granddaughter , Ashlee Mayer of Havre. Her Grandson , Brandon Williams, of Havre. Her Brother , Jim Dingle of Fairfax , Virginia  . Her sisters -in-laws , Joyce, Carolyn, Marilyn , and Patricia "Pat " or Trish as she called her , and her brother in-law Carl Jurenka . Many nieces and nephews and great nieces and nephews .  Kathy is also survived by many lifelong and special friends that she considered family for life . What we will miss the most is all the hugs and kisses that mom always gave .
