Obituary

Karin R. Breum, 84, passed away on Sunday, December 8, 2024, due to natural causes at the Northern Montana Care Center with her family at her side.  Cremation has taken place, and memorial services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, April 11, 2025, at First Lutheran Church with Pastor Megan Hoewisch officiating.  Karin's family has suggested memorial donations be made in her memory to First Lutheran Church, Triangle Mental Health Services, or the charity of the donor's choice.  Holland & Bonine Funeral Home has been entrusted with services and arrangements.

Karin was born on September 8, 1940, in Manheim, Germany to Bernhard and Anni (Martin) Ebel.  She was raised in Crailsheim, Germany, with her sisters, attending Crailsheim Grade School and High Schools, and continued her education at Schwabisch Hall College.  After college graduation, Karin immigrated to the United States and worked as a typist for Dunn & Bradstreet in Milwaukee, Wisconsin.  She returned to Germany to visit her parents and sisters, and began working for the US Army as a translator, which is where she met Robert "Bob" Breum.  In 1961, Karin took a job with the World Health Organization in Cairo, Egypt.  She returned home to Crailsheim, resuming her job with the US Army.  Karin and Bob married July 14, 1962, in Crailsheim.  Upon their return to the States, they lived in Milwaukee, WI, where Bob worked and Karin cared for their home and children.  They moved to Havre, and soon co-owned and operated MidTown Conoco and then MidTown Car Care, where Karin was the bookkeeper.  She provided the voice and thought for MidTown Conoco's "Thought of the Day" on the radio, and people recognized her for many years to follow for that.

Karin enjoyed Karate, biking, skiing, and gardening, but she loved to knit.  She was rather infamous in the area for her knitting skills.  She was a member of Beta Sigma Phi, and she loved to coach children in soccer.  Karin also served as a Girl Scout Leader and Cub Scout Leader.  She adored her husband, children, and grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents.

Karin is survived by her husband, Bob Breum of Havre; children, Mike Breum of Havre, Renee (Sean) Titus of North Carolina, and Todd (Michelle) Breum of Billings; six grandchildren, Christopher (Hailey) Breum and Katie (Rick) Houim, both of Havre, Alexandria Titus of North Carolina, and Eric, Hailey, and Luke Breum, all of Billings; three great-grandchildren, Ethan, Carlin, and Zander; sisters, Ursula Wolf of Munich, Germany, and Ann Gross of Frankfurt, Germany; and several nieces and nephews.
