Obituary

Juanita Dawn Gopher, "Whistling Wind Woman" 58, passed away on April 12, 2026, at Benefis Healthcare in Great Falls, MT. She was born on April 2, 1968, to Thomas Gopher and Lois Jensen Gopher in Havre, MT.  A wake will be held on Monday, April 13, 2026, at 1pm at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Rocky Boy, a funeral service will be held on Tuesday, April 14, 2026, at 10am at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Rocky Boy. Burial to follow services at New Rocky Boy Cemetery.

Juanita attended Rocky Boy Elementary and Rocky Boy Highschool. While in Highschool she was a gifted athlete. She was the first female athlete to run cross county and made her whole family very proud of that accomplishment. After, highschool she met Ortin Rock and they were together more than 40 years. She welcomed three children, Nathan Rock, Jackie Rock, and Meaghan.

She enjoyed playing pool, fishing, loved to try her luck at gambling. Juanita's laugh could fill an entire room which often did as well as her teasing those she loved. Juanita was kindhearted, sometimes shy, softspoken, and always spoke kindly to others. One of Juanita's hobbies was photography and collecting pictures she was very protective of them, making sure they were cared for. Juanita was a loving grandmother to all of her grandchildren, she enjoyed visiting with them.

Juanita is survived by her husband Ortin Rock of Rocky Boy; son Nathan Rock; daughters Jackie Rock of Rocky Boy and Meaghan Tuomala of Havre, MT ; sisters Laurie Gopher, Althea Gopher and Jackie Gopher of Rocky Boy; brothers Tom Gopher of Great Falls, MT, H. Antony Howell of Rocky Boy, and Brandon Gopher of Rocky Boy; mother in law Emma Lou Rock; grandchildren Jaylan, Johnnie, Jayce, Sativa "Stevie", Remy, Amari, Kaecen, Keori, Keilana, Jazlynn, Arianah, Morgan Jr., Amiyah, Taydrian, Carson.

She is preceded in death by her parents Thomas and Lois Gopher; siblings Elizabeth (Squasis) Wetsit, Joseph Gopher, Paul V. Gopher; grandmas Babe Gopher and Mary Littlesun; grandsons Shadow Phoenix Davis and Kaidynce Small; granddaughter Natari Lynn Rock; nephew Jerico Small.
