Josephine (G. G.) Briere Smith passed away peacefully surrounded by her family on August 27, 2017, at Northern Montana Care Center. She was the sixth child of nine born to Joe and Louise Briere in Chinook, Montana on August 20, 1937.

Josephine was a familiar face at the Give Away House, where she volunteered for years. She enjoyed visiting with friends and family; people watching; and crocheting.

Josephine was preceded in death by her husband, Rocky Smith; son, Greg Briere; and 5 siblings.
Josephine is survived by her children, Rose Liberty, Louise (Dennis) Schaub, Rick Johnson, Deanna Jackson, Joe Briere and Kyle; her grandson Delbert Briere whom she raised; brother Mickey Briere; sister Maida (Keith) Sorkness; 15 grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren.
