Josephine "Jo" (Roth) Hellman passed away of natural causes November 9, 2025, at the age of 92. Jo was born on January 6, 1933, in Hamilton Montana to Margaret and Joseph Roth.

She was raised in Corvallis, Montana, and graduated from Corvallis High School on May 19, 1951. On that same day, she married the love of her life Vern Hellman. Their son Ron was born on June 29, 1952. Later they were blessed with their daughter, Linda, on October 3, 1954. The family moved to Havre in 1956.

Friends, Thelma and Sam Kamph, introduced Jo to the bar business and she made that her career for many years. She was president of the bartender's union for 20 years and later was the assistant manager of the Vet's Club and later was assistant manager of the Eagle's Club until she retired. She worked for the Uniform Shop for a few years after that.

Jo was preceded in death by her husband, Vern, of 41 years; her step-daughter, Claudia Roels; her grandson, David Roels; her parents; her sisters, Helen, Anne, and Louise; and brothers, George, Joe, Pete, and Gordie.

Jo is survived by her son, Ron (Joyce) Hellman of Havre; grandson, son Scott (Brooke) Hellman of Powell, Wyoming; Scott's daughter, Stacey Hellman, of Bozeman, Montana; her daughter, Linda of Helena, Montana; her son-in-law, Dave Roels of Phoenix, Arizona; her grandson, Bob (Starla) Roels of Portland, Oregon; and her brother, Jim (Bonnie) Roth of Hamilton, Montana.

Services will be held November 15, 2025, at St Jude Thaddeus Church at 11 a.m. with burial to follow in Highland Cemetery.   Many thanks to all the doctors and nurses at the Northern Montana Hospital that gave her great care and to Care & Comfort and their staff for making her last years comfortable.
