Joseph John Whitehorse Jr. passed away June 30, 2025. A wake will be held July 1, 2025, starting at 3 p.m. Funeral service will be held July 2, 2025, at 11:00 a.m. with burial to follow at New Rocky Boy Cemetery. Holland & Bonine has been entrusted with arrangements.

Joseph was born on August 24, 1964, to Joseph Whitehorse Sr, and Janice Caulder. He was the third of seven siblings. When he was young, he grew up on motorcycles and enjoyed fishing and being outdoors. From 1977 to 1981 he fought in numerous boxing bouts around Montana. He fought in the Golden Gloves for the Junior Olympics starting in 1977. He also ran in the Governors cup in 1982 and placed 8th. He received his construction technology certificate in spring of 2011 and attended commercial truck driving school and flagger training in 2012.

Joseph enjoyed many things such as boxing and running, and he really lowkey enjoyed reading. He won the Montana State Golden Gloves AAU tournament in 1979. After many years he took a mistress for many years that he liked to call live poker.

He was preceded in death by wife Sandy Potts; mother and father Joseph Whitehorse Jr and Janice Caulder-Whitehorse; grandfather and grandmother John and Julia Whitehorse; aunt Viola; brother Emil Longneck; uncle Melvin; Mike, Robert, and Russell Gopher; Grandmother Agnes Gopher.

He is survived by son Chaz (Altair) Whitehorse; brothers Leonard "Oscar" Whitehorse, Donald "Ducky" Whitehorse; sisters Tammy Williams, Mavis (Don) Whiteford, Carla ManyHides, Valerie "Buggy" Twoteeth, Julia Whitehorse; grandchildren Nevaeh and Taycen; and numerous nieces, nephews, and both Browning and Rocky Boy grandchildren
