Joseph J. Waldner, 87, of Havre passed away on Wednesday, October 24, 2012, at his residence of natural causes. Funeral services will be held at Hilldale Colony at 12:00 p.m. on Friday, October 26, 2012, with burial in the Hilldale Cemetery. The Colony would like to extend their many thanks to the Havre Hospice Program. Holland & Bonine Funeral Home has been entrusted with arrangements. Joseph was born on July 19, 1925, in Magrath, Alberta, Canada, to Joseph and Rebecca (Wipf) Waldner. He was raised in Magrath, moving to Montana in 1948. Joseph married Mary Hofer in 1956 at Rock Port Colony in Pendroy, Montana, and the couple's union was blessed with two children. Joseph and Mary made their home at Hilldale Colony, where Joseph was a carpenter and a farmer until his retirement. He enjoyed his carpentry work, even into retirement, but he also enjoyed gardening and spending time with his family. Mr. Waldner was preceded in death by his parents Joseph and Rebecca Waldner; his brothers Reverend Andrew Waldner, John Waldner, Sam Waldner, and George (Susie) Waldner; and his two sisters Rebecca Waldner and Elizabeth Hofer. He is survived by Mary Waldner, his wife of 56 years, of Hilldale Colony; his son Joseph Waldner of Hilldale Colony; his daughter Mary (George) Kleinsasser of Hilldale Colony; his six grandchildren; his sisters Susie (Dave) Kleinsasser and Sarah (Dave) Waldner, both of East End Colony, and Magdelena (Mike) Hofer of Spring Water Colony; his brothers Eli (Rebecca) Waldner of Camrose Colony and Peter (Sarah) Waldner of East End Colony; his sisters-in-law Katie Waldner and Rebecca Waldner of Hilldale Colony, and Susie Waldner of Hartland Colony; and numerous nieces and nephews.
