Jon Kent Johnson, 71, passed away due to extended illness at his Havre residence on Friday, October 15, 2021. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, October 21, 2021, at Fifth Avenue Christian Church. Burial will follow in Highland Cemetery. Jon's family has suggested memorial donations be made in his memory to a foundation of your choice. Holland & Bonine Funeral Home has been entrusted with services and arrangements.
Jon was born on October 22, 1949, in Havre to Clarence and Katheren (Furlong) Johnson. He was a lifetime resident of Havre. In 1968, Jon entered the US Army and served for the next six years, receiving his honorable discharge in 1974. He returned to Havre, where he began his employment with Burlington Northern Railroad. He married Nancy Hinkle, and the couple had two sons before divorcing. He worked for Burlington Northern and then Burlington Northern Santa Fe for many years.
After retirement Jon enjoyed his family, fishing, listening to music, reading, and watching horse races.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Clarence and Katheren Johnson; brothers, Dennis, Terry, and Corey Johnson; and grandparents, Tom and Hilda Furlong.
Jon is survived by his sons, Allen M. Johnson of Missoula and William (Jeri) Johnson of Great Falls; five grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; and sister, Karla (Robert) Arndt of Thompson Falls and many nieces and nephews all of whom he loved dearly and enjoyed their company. He will be missed by all.
