Obituary

It is with profound sorrow that we announce Johnny Polk of Rudyard, Montana, passed away unexpectedly October 14, 2025.

Johnny was born August 15, 1965, in Griffin Georgia.

Gone, but not forgotten. Johnny was a Johnny, not a jack, of all trades and a master at none except painting. You can cruise the Hi-Line Chester, Rudyard and Hingham, MT, and see his hard work brightening up buildings, stores, houses, decks, and much more. Johnny always left his mark wherever he went, even if he didn't have his paintbrush. He would pop in, say a few words occasionally a tall tale story, then he would disappear.

He would be the first to tell you he wasn't perfect, but he would always try to help anyone to the best of his abilities. This past summer he hired Izzy to teach him how to paint and be his right-hand man. Izzy became more like family in an instant, Johnny spoke about his great work ethic and how he will always look back and remember the skills Johnny had taught him.

Johnny is survived by his loving wife, Shannon Polk of Rudyard MT; father, Johnny Polk of Georgia; brothers, Chris Polk and Walter Polk, wife Michelle and nieces Rowan and Haley, all of Griffin, GA; mother-in-law, Darlene Leland of Havre, MT, Rob, Andrea and kids; daughter, Amber Goodson; grandson, Randy Goodson; granddaughters, Rosie, Lonnie, and Lilyana Goodson; foster mom, Kasey McCurley; and his aunt, Mary Ann Morgan.

Johnny was preceded in death by his mother, Martha Jane Mclemore.

Cremation has taken place.  There will be a Celebration of Life potluck get together for Johnny November 15, at 2:00pm at the Rudyard Catholic Community Church.  It will be Johnny-fashioned . A quick hey how's it going? And until next time. Come for 5 minutes or stay until we leave. All are welcome

Shannon would like to thank everyone that had a hand in helping support them during this difficult time.

In Lieu of flowers, donations can be made to help cover costs and expenses during this time or to the new Rudyard Community Center in Johnny's memory.

We would love to hear stories and fond memories that anyone has shared with Johnny. Letters and or pictures received will be collected and made into an album for my Shannon to keep to remember him by.
