Obituary

John H. LaRocque, Jr., 58, passed away on Thursday, December 25, 2014, at his residence of natural causes. Wake services will begin at 3:00 p.m. and rosary services will take place at 7:00 p.m., on Friday, December 26, 2014, at St. Anthony's Catholic Church in Box Elder. Funeral services will be at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, December 27, 2014, also at St. Anthony's. Interment will follow in the Rocky Boy Veteran's Cemetery. John was born on May 14, 1956, in Fort Belknap to John and Lorraine (Houle) LaRocque, Sr. The family moved to California soon after, and he was raised in California, graduating from Arroyo High School in El Monte, CA. John joined the US Marine Corps in 1973, and served his country faithfully for eight years, receiving his honorable discharge in 1981. John returned to Rocky Boy after his discharge, and worked for many years for the Rocky Boy Police Department, and also worked on the roads and for the Rocky Boy Construction Company. John enjoyed traveling in his younger years, and was an avid Sci-Fi fan. He loved spending time socializing with his family and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents John H. LaRocque Sr. and Lorraine Jacobs; his grandson Dominick Stump; his sister Sheryl Jones; and all of his grandparents. John is survived by his daughters Tami (Nick) Mizell of Gilbert, AZ, and Vanity LaRocque of El Cajon, CA; his grandchildren Amon LaRocque, Aina Ali, and Brody Mizell of Gilbert, AZ, and Damien Stump and Niko Sandoval of El Cajon, CA; his sisters Terry (John) Sandoval of Mreno Valley, CA, Janet Grajeda of Box Elder, and Mary Jo Jones of Butte; his brothers Patrick Jones of Box Elder, Marlin (Tina) Jones of Havre, and Jeffrey (Stacy) Jones of Box Elder; and numerous beloved aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, nephews, and extended family and friends.
