Jeanette Longknife Daniels, 88, passed away May 9, 2019, due to natural causes at her home in Dodson. Wake services will begin at 5:00 p.m., with her Rosary service being held at 7:00 p.m., all on Sunday, May 12, 2019, at the Fort Belknap Community Center. Her funeral service will be at 11:00 a.m. on Monday, May 13, 2019, also at the Community Center, with burial to follow in the Daniels Family Cemetery on the Horn Ranch. Jeanette was born January 12, 1931 in Fort Belknap to Melvina Tall Youth and William Longknife, and grew up on the county line on the Horn Ranch. After her school years, Jeanette married Art Daniels, and the couple traveled the northwest, following work, eventually settling in California. Art passed away, and later Jeanette met Manferd Jones, and they made a life together. In 1980, they moved back to Montana, making their home in Dodson.

Throughout her life, Jeanette worked many jobs. Her last job was as a cook's helper at the Fort Belknap Agency Senior Center, where she worked for many years until her retirement in 2018.

She enjoyed attending powwows and spending time with her grandchildren. Jeanette was the last surviving child of Melvina Horn.

She was preceded in death by her parents, grandparents, and all of her siblings.

Jeanette is survived by her husband Manfred Jones of Dodson; son Ival (Danielle) Jackson of Fort Belknap; grandchildren Casey Jackson of Dodson and Shannon Jackson of California; and seven great-grandchildren, including Dakota Sky Jackson, Skyler Dean Jackson, and Jacqueey Dean Jackson; and numerous adopted grandchildren, cousins, nieces, nephews, and other extended family and friends.
