Obituary

Jack L. Hines, 77, passed away due to natural causes at the Northern Montana Care Center on Wednesday, January 3, 2018.  Wake services will begin at 5:00 p.m. on Monday, January 8, and will continue until his funeral, which will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Tuesday, January 9, 2018, all at the Moreno family residence located at 887 Longhorn Drive.  Burial will follow in the Morsette Family Cemetery.

Jack was born on September 6, 1940, in Denver, Colorado, to Harvey and Pauline (Ostwalt) Hines.  After high school graduation, he married Rhonda Zody, and the couple had two children prior to divorcing.  Sometime later, Jack married Katherine Denny, and they made their home in Havre, where Jack worked for many years as a farm and ranch hand.  His wife Katherine passed away in 2005, and in 2009, Jack relocated to Rocky Boy to spend his last years with his grandchildren and great-grandchildren.  He enjoyed watching Westerns on TV, working on cars, and spending quality time with his grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Jack was preceded in death by his beloved wife Katherine (Denny) Hines; his parents, Harvey and Pauline Hines; his sister Lorilee (Hines) Butsch; his brothers Sherman and James Hines; and several step-children.

He is survived by his children Karen (Ricky) Cox and Bruce (Larissa) Hines, both of Woodward, OK; many grandchildren and great-grandchildren; his brothers, Harvey (LaNette) Hines of Freemont, CA, Gene (Audree) Hines of Portland, OR, and Robert (Kathy) Hines of Bothell, WA; and numerous extended family.
