Irene Lee
Parisian
May 14, 1941 – June 20, 2022
Irene L. "Rena" Parisian, 81, passed away due to natural causes at her residence on Monday, June 20, 2022. Graveside services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Wednesday, June 22, 2022, in the Box Elder Cemetery. Holland & Bonine Funeral Home has been entrusted with arrangements.
Rena was born on May 14, 1941, in Lewistown to Gilbert and Irene (Swan) Belcourt. She was raised in Rocky Boy, attending school there. In 1959, Rena married Thomas "Zeke" Parisian, and in the early 60's the family relocated to Los Angeles, CA, where they remained until the mid-70's. They then returned to Montana, settling in Box Elder. After her children were grown, Rena continued her education at Northern Montana College, and then became the librarian and teacher's aid for the Box Elder Schools. She retired early in the 80's.
Rena was a loving, funny woman who enjoyed sewing, reading, traveling, and going to yard sales. She was very strong-minded, which made her the ideal candidate for quilting, and she excelled at it. She looked forward to her yardwork every year, but the bright spot in her world was her grandchildren. She absolutely adored each and every one, and spent as much time with them as she could.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Zeke Parisian; parents, Gilbert and Irene Belcourt; and siblings, Popeye, Martin, Daniel, and John Belcourt, Marie Mock, Darlene Freeman, and Shirley Meyers.
Rena is survived by her daughter, Carol (Dan) Mellgren of Spokane, WA; sons, Kelly (Marlene) and George "Pucksue" (Tammie) Parisian, both of Box Elder, Tom Parisian of Arlee, and Tony (Edwina) Parisian of Wisconsin; numerous grandchildren; numerous great-grandchildren; sisters, Vera Lack of Polson, and Roberta Belcourt and Carla Striker, both of Box Elder; brothers, Ponch Belcourt of Havre, Skinny Belcourt of Box Elder, and Richard Belcourt of Arlee; and numerous cousins, nieces, nephews, and other extended family and friends.
