Helen TalksDifferent "Screaming Woman", 80, of Fort Belknap, passed away on Friday, August 30, 2013, at Northern Montana Care Center of natural causes. Wake services will begin at 3:00 p.m. on Sunday, September 1, 2013, at her Fort Belknap residence. They will continue at 5:00 p.m. on Sunday at Sacred Heart Church in Fort Belknap, and she will be moved to the St. Paul Mission Rec Center at 4:00 p.m. on Monday, September 2, 2013. Her funeral mass will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday, September 3, 2013, at St. Paul Mission Church with burial to follow in the St. Paul Mission Cemetery. Helen was born on March 6, 1933, in Brookside to Joseph and Josephine (Bracelet) WhiteCow. She was raised in Hays, graduating from high school there, and married Alvin "Cubby" TalksDifferent in 1961 in Chinook. The family relocated to Fort Belknap in 1969, where they finished raising their eleven children. Helen worked as a cook at the Mission, the CDC, Daycare, and HeadStart. She enjoyed baking and cooking for everyone, Bingo, going to Catholic Church, and the Sundances. Helen was known for her breakfast sandwiches, her cinnamon rolls, her fabulous sense of humor, and her infamous "belly dance". She was an avid "Days of Our Lives" Fan for 30 years, and took great pride in her grandchildren. Helen also loved animals, always keeping Parakeets around the house. She was preceded in death by her daughter Georgia Lee "Crysie" LaVallie; her grandchildren Javen, Alvin "Shafter", and Snowshield TalksDifferent, Richard Horn, Damien Gone, Amanda Messerly, Elena Frazier-TalksDifferent, Hunter Strait;her parents Joe & Josephine WhiteCow; her sisters Veronica Bearcub, Barbara WhiteCow, and Jean Rose WhiteCow; her brothers Clifford and William WhiteCow; her special uncle John Hits Last; her grandparents Al & Lena WhiteCow; and her special friend Mac McCarthy. She is survived by her husband Alvin "Cubby" TalksDifferent of Fort Belknap; her daughters Carol "Puddy" LaVallie of Pablo, MT, and Joan (Stan) Johnson, Lena (Dan) Horn, and Esther (Byard) LameBull, all of Fort Belknap; her sons Edward "Tyke" WhiteCow, Sherman (Roberta) LaVallie, Sr., Ralph (Missy) TalksDifferent, Virgil (Rose) TalksDifferent, and Gene (Amanda) Talks Different, all of Fort Belknap, Alvin (Alrita) TalksDifferent of Ethete, WY, and Ira TalksDifferent of Harlem; her adopted sons Roger (Mary Kay) White and Kim "Feas" Norquay, Sr. of Fort Belknap; her 29 grandchildren; her 34 great-grandchildren; her sisters Roberta "Itty" (Robert) Werk, Catherine (Roger) Longknife, and Mary WhiteCow, all of Hays, and Bernadette (Alfred) Lodge of Harlem; and numerous beloved nieces, nephews, relatives and friends in the Brisbo/Main, Bushyhead, Nez Perce, Ironman, and Shortman families.
