Hamid Abdallah, 99 years of age passed peacefully in his home August 6, 2023, of natural causes. He was laid to rest in the family Muslim Cemetery located in Stanley, ND, on August 10, 2023, in a private family graveside service.

Hamid was born on the family farm near Ross, ND, on April 19, 1924, into a large Syrian-Lebanese family. Hamid would eventually meet and marry Marcia Ashcraft on December 11, 1953, in Ross, ND. Hamid and Marcia moved to Havre, MT, in 1953. Soon after, he would begin his career with the city of Havre. He was well known for wearing his signature cap and by his nickname "Abby".

After retirement in 1990, he enjoyed many years of fishing, gardening, repairing small machinery and appliances, and conversations with his coffee club friends.

Hamid is survived by his wife of 71 years, Marcia; five children: Mike (Kris) Abdallah of Spokane, WA, and grandchildren, Damon, Devin, and Rachael; Colleen (John Lamey) Goodman of Millersburg, PA, and grandchildren, Michael, Stephanie, Angie, and Laura; Don (Twana Wangler) Abdallah of Lawrence, KS, and grandchildren, Lexie and Abby; former daughter in-law, Donna Abdallah of Lawrence, KS; Travis (Cookie) Abdallah of Havre, and grandchildren, Tony, Tyler, Tanner;  and Randy Abdallah of Chandler, AZ, and grandchildren, Markus and Bryan; 20 great-grandchildren; sister, Marry Anderson of Swift Current, Saskatchewan; and numerous nephews, nieces, and cousins.

Known for his gentle disposition and dedicated work ethic, he will be greatly missed.
