Glenn N. Kemmer, 87, passed away due to natural causes on Friday, October 21, 2016, at the Northern Montana Care Center in Havre. Cremation has taken place, and no services have been scheduled at this time. Holland & Bonine Funeral Home has been entrusted with arrangements. Glenn was born on March 28, 1929, in Racine, MN, to Earl and Hazel (Rathbone) Kemmer. He was raised in the Racine/Stewartville area, graduating from Stewartville High School. While in school, Glenn played baseball and football, at which he excelled. In 1951, he married Betty Jo Stoyke, and they had three children, Jeff, Mark and Cary. For several years, Glenn worked as a meat cutter, and then a truck driver. He and Betty Jo divorced in 1959, and in 1962, Glenn remarried, this time to Irene Nelson, with whom he had four children, Chris, Kӓren, Nelson, and Matt. The family moved to Montana in 1973, so that Glenn could work as a logger in Townsend. He and Irene divorced in 1982. Glenn worked as a truck driver, a bus driver, and a janitor in Townsend, where he painted houses during the summer. He continued driving truck until his retirement.
Glenn enjoyed fishing, hunting, and cutting meat, and he loved to spend time with his grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Earl and Hazel Kemmer; his sons, Cary and Nelson Kemmer; and his beloved daughter-in-law, Debbie Kemmer.
Glenn is survived by his daughter Kӓren (Bob) Cremer of Miles City, MT; his four sons, Jeff (Linda) Kemmer of Florida, Mark (Lynn) Kemmer of CA, Chris Kemmer of Havre, and Matt (Christian) Kemmer of Bozeman; his eight grandchildren; his seven great-grandchildren; his sister Margaret (Don) Schmalenberg of Winona, MN; his brothers Kelvin Kemmer of Bloomington, MN, and Keith Kemmer of Rochester, MN; and numerous nieces and nephews.
