Gary Bennett, 82, of Havre was reunited with his wife Sandra Jean and his youngest son Josh on Nov. 6, 2025.

Gary was born on October 24, 1943, in Oakland, CA to Fred and Olga. The family later settled in Havre where Gary graduated from high school in 1961. He went on to serve in the Navy as an avionics technician in San Diego, CA.

Gary married Sandra Jean Harding, and they were blessed with three boys, Brion, Jason and Josh. He worked for BNSF for 30 years, retiring as a locomotive engineer.

Gary's love for cars, mechanics and speed took the family all over the northwest and Canada and created many memories over the years. He built countless race cars and made many lifelong friends.

Gary is survived by his sons Brion (Idaho Falls) and Jason (Helena).

He was preceded in death by his wife Sandy, son Josh, his parents Fred and Olga and his sisters, Penny, Joy, Sarah and Bonnie.

A celebration of life will be held at a later date.
