Galen Edward Eagleman, Kisiko Awasis, Angel Child, 71, passed away due to natural causes on Thursday, April 9, 2020, at Northern Montana Hospital. Wake services will begin at 4:00 p.m. on Friday, April 10, 2020, and will continue until his funeral service, which will be at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, April 11, 2020, all at Our Saviour's Lutheran Church. Burial will follow in the Eagleman Family Cemetery. Holland & Bonine Funeral Home has been entrusted with arrangements. Galen was born on May 16, 1948, in Rocky Boy to Edward and Rose (Walking Child) Eagleman. He was raised in Rocky Boy, attending country school. Following his school years, Galen began working as a heavy equipment operator, which he continued until his health required him to retire. He married Rita Berger in 1965, and the couple had four children. They also took in several children to raise, as well. Rita passed away in 2013.
Galen enjoyed playing Bingo and handgame, reading the newspaper, and watching the news. He was a faithful member of the Native American Church, and was proud of his heritage.
He was preceded in death by his wife Rita Eagleman; grandchildren, Rebecca and Ronald Eagleman, Jr.; parents, Edward and Rose Eagleman; brothers, Gerald and Allan Eagleman; and sister, Celina Eagleman.
Galen is survived by his children, Wayne Eagleman, Gail (John Mitchell) Eagleman, Ronald Eagleman, Melissa (Victor Morsette) Eagleman, and Gerry (Cameron Werk) Eagleman, all of Rocky Boy; eleven grandchildren; eighteen great-grandchildren; siblings, Francis Eagleman, Harlan "Jeff" Eagleman, Gilda Stanley, and Tex Eagleman, all of Rocky Boy; aunts, Ruby Gopher, Theresa Tendoy, Virginia Walking Child, and Cecelia Walking Child; uncle, Larry Walking Child; and numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, and other extended family and friends.
