Gail Ann Johannesen, 86, passed away due to natural causes at Northern Montana Care Center on Sunday, May 15, 2022. Funeral services will begin at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, May 21, 2022, at Holland & Bonine Funeral Home with Pastor Megan Hoewisch officiating. Burial will follow in Highland Cemetery. Gail's family has suggested memorial donations be made in her memory to the charity of the donor's choice. Holland & Bonine Funeral Home has been entrusted with services and arrangements.
Gail was born on October 12, 1935, in Malta to Louis and Mabel (Homier) Plouffe. She attended school in Strater, east of Malta. On June 11, 1955, she married Willie Johannesen in Malta, and the couple made their home there for several years, where Gail worked as cook in several restaurants. They moved to Harlem in 1971, where Gail cooked in a couple of restaurants. In 1980, Gail and her family moved to Havre. She cooked at 4B's for many years, until she retired in the late 90's.
Gail enjoyed spending time with her children and grandchildren, gardening, and baking.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Willie Johannsesen; great-grandson, Kellen Lund; parents, Louis and Mabel (Homier) Plouffe; brothers, Louis, Dale, Don, Richard, Grady, and Garry Plouffe; and sisters, Dorothy Ames, Judy Messerly, and Nancy Sonnichsen.
Gail is survived by her children, Jim (Jill) Johannesen and Cindy (Terry Leonard) Kimberling, all of Havre; grandchildren, Billy (Tiffany) Kimberling, Crystal (Nick) Lowen, Jimmy (Katie) Kimberling, Breanna Johannesen, Ryan (Katara) Johannesen, and Jeri (Mark Larson) Zorn; great-grandchildren, Preston, Kylie, and Taylor Lowen, Dylan, Brayden, Kortlynn, Zander, Zoey, Landon, and Jaxon Kimberling, Colton Johannesen, Kaiden and Ryker Erickson, Hunter Gillam, Ryker O'Leary, and Cole Erickson; one great-great-grandson, Skighler Johannesen; brother, Edward Plouffe of Glasgow; and numerous nieces and nephews.
