Fred E. Bacon, whose Native American name is Kind Hearted Thunderbird Child (Kah-K Se What Sit Pi ye so ah wah sis), 24, passed away on Thursday, May 19, 2016, in Rocky Boy due to smoke inhalation. Wake services will begin at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, May 21, 2016, at Our Saviour's Lutheran Church, and will continue until 3:00 p.m. Sunday, May 22, 2016, when Fred will be moved to St. Mary's Catholic Church. Rosary will be held at 7:00 p.m. on Sunday, May 22, 2016, and funeral services will be at 10:00 a.m. on Monday, May 23, 2016, all at St. Mary's Catholic Church. Burial will follow in the Rocky Boy Cemetery. Holland & Bonine Funeral Home has been entrusted with arrangements. Fred was born at the Northern Montana Hospital in Havre, Montana on June 25, 1991 to Emery and Darla Bacon. Fred grew up in Rocky Boy all his life, he loved traveling back to Eagle Butte, South Dakota to spend time with his family. Fred comes from the Bacon, Red Bear, Nault and Arpan families. Fred's closest friend was his little sister Jonni Rose, their love for each other could not be measured.
He attended grade school and High School in Box Elder, he graduated from Box Elder High School in 2009. While in High School he played Basketball and Football. Fred also attended the Kicking Horse Job Corps and graduated as a Pharmacy Tech in November 2015.
Fred loved the outdoors, pow-wows, basketball games and especially spending time with his family. He had many brothers and sisters that he held close. He really enjoyed hanging out with Austin Bacon Jr. (Baby Austin) and Shane, teasing around, they always made his day full of laughter.
Our Son, Brother, Grandson, Nephew, and Friend will be greatly missed.
Fred is preceded in death by his grandfathers, Fred Bacon, and John Red Bear; grandmother Alida Chasing Hawk; uncle Wayne Red Bear; great-grandparents, Steve and Florence Arpan, Fred and Mary Nault, and Edward and Mary Rock.
Fred is survived by his father Emery Bacon; mother Darla Red Bear; sister Jonni Rose Bacon; aunt Dawn Red Bear; uncle Damon Red Bear, Ashley & Barry Arpan; grandmothers, Caroline Raining Bird and Emma Rock, Rose Ann Mitchell; Gus and Rose Bacon, Guy and Velva Turner, Colleen & Kate Small, Ashlee Raining Bird & family, Codi & Neal Rosette Jr. & family; Cheryl Morgaridge & family; Martin & Judy Parker & family; and grandfathers Zane & Kenny Arpan.
