Obituary

Frances "Franny" Faye Rosette, 79, passed away on Saturday June 12, 2021, surrounded by her family at her home in Box Elder due to natural causes.  Wake services will begin at 5:30 p.m., and her Rosary will be held at 7:00 p.m. on on Sunday, June 13, 2021.  Funeral services will begin at 9:30 a.m. on Monday, June 14, 2021, all at the Box Elder Gymnasium.  Burial will follow in the Box Elder Cemetery.  Holland & Bonine Funeral Home has been entrusted with arrangements.

Franny was born in Havre, Montana, on October 10, 1941, to Frank and Mary Rosette, the youngest of eight children.  Franny lived her entire life in the Box Elder community where her father and mother had a small farm about a mile north of town.

Franny's mom died in 1948 and dad passed away in 1961 when she was very young, so she lived at the Joe and Olive Rosette residence until she passed. She attended school in Box Elder for a time but never graduated. She received an "Honorary Degree" from Stone Child College several years ago.

She went to work at Box Elder Schools as a custodial worker and retired in 2020 after over 30 years of service.  During the last few years, she was considered more of a mascot than an employee, as she really couldn't perform custodial work due to her age and frailness. She had a passion for the kids, and would always stress the importance of staying in school and getting an education.

She was known to be a very strict gym monitor, and would sit by the door during basketball games ensuring the little ones weren't running in and out of the gym raising cain.  She always met the officials at the door to welcome them to the game, but to also let them know she was keeping a close eye on them. When the games were over, she left them with a smile.

Franny was considered the #1 fan of the Box Elder Bears and Lady Bears basketball teams. She knew and interacted with all of the kids on the teams personally. She attended almost every game while she had her eyesight, and would often travel to the games on the team bus. All the kids knew and loved her, and many would take care of her on the bus rides to the games when her mobility started to wane. She knew many people across the Hi-line, and many would greet and give her a hug during her time in opposing gyms as well as at home games.

While Franny never learned to drive, she enjoyed riding around the area with family members and friends and was always calling people to come and get her for a trip to Havre or just a ride to Jitters. She loved Christmas with her family because that was a time when all the family would gather and enjoy time with each other.  Franny had a big, loving heart and was proud of her family, loved them with all her heart, and always wanted nothing but the best for them.

In the last couple years of her life, she had many, many health issues including her blindness and hearing loss which caused her many days and nights of distress. She was the strongest woman we knew and never complained when she would get sick. Franny was a unique woman, and we are so grateful for our time with her and thankful that Robin, Kathy, Rose, and Rena teamed up to provide her 24-7 care in the past year so she could stay in her house until she finally went home.  She was a devout Catholic, had an unwavering faith in God, and almost never missed church services at St. Anthony's Church in Box Elder. She passed with her rosary in her hands.

Franny was preceded in death by her mom and dad; brothers, Joe Rosette, George Rosette, Johnny Rosette, Gene Rosette, Charlie Rosette; sister, Sarah Parisian; niece, Mary Lou Rosette; and nephew, Kenny Parisian.

Survivors include her brother Frank (Sherry) Rosette of Helena, Montana; and nieces and nephews who she considered her children include, Pam (Scott) Austin, Maureen (Rick Holcomb) Rosette, Yvonne (Jon) Hill, Kathy (Ronnie Joe) Henry, Joey (Chine) Rosette, Jr., Neal (Robin) Rosette, Tim (Lori) Rosette,  Edward (Barb) Parisian, Wilbert (Corrine) Parisian, Robert (Diana) Parisian, Tommy (Gloria) Parisian, Luke Parisian, Donna (Gary) Coltrane, Margaret Parisian, Rose (Gus) Bacon, Bernie Parisian, and Veronica Parisian.  She is also survived by many more nieces and nephews too numerous to name individually.
