Florine (Cochran) Jones, Bathots (Big Eyes) passed away on October 23, 2015 , at the age of 85. She was born April 7, 1930, at Fort Belknap, Montana. Her parents were Frank D. Cochran and Rosie Matte Cochran. Her early childhood was spent at Hays and Fort Belknap. She also lived with her parents in Seattle, WA; moving to Harlem at the end of World War II where she graduated from Harlem High School. Florine married Cecil Buck Jones and they lived near Hays. They also lived in Inglewood, CA on a Relocation Program. After their divorce, Florine and her children moved to Billings where she attended Business College. She moved her parents with her also. She was first employed by the Bureau of Indian Affairs at the Kicking Horse Job Corps Center, Ronan; then Glacier National Park at West Glacier, MT; and the Indian Health Service at Billings, MT. While employed by IHS, she worked as Administrative Officer and/or Service Unit Director at Chinle, AZ on the Navajo Reservation; Fort Belknap Hospital at Harlem, MT; and Fort Washakie Clinic at Fort Washakie, WY. Florine retired in 1992 from the IHS Billings Area Office and she and her Mom moved back to Hays. Florine and her children wrote poetry and drew animal pictures. She made quilts for her children and grandchildren. She loved her dogs, looking for rocks and fossils, gardening, and travel. Florine visited Egypt, Greece, Turkey, Peru, Cancun, Mexico and Jordan. Florine was preceded in death by her parents, Frank and Rosie Cochran; brothers Curtis and Jodie (Douglas) Cochran; grandsons Tyler Brockie and Brad Miller; and daughter Karma. She is survived by her granddaughter Sarah Rose Cochran; sons Matthew (Celina), Tom (Vicki), Kenny, Jesse (Debbie); daughters Daryl (Robert)Brockie, Audrey Jones, Laura (Michael) Simpson, Wanda (Mike Garvin), and Zita (Bryan Silva); and her brother Robert and sister Vivian Cochran; 19 grandchildren, 28 great grandchildren, and 2 great great grandchildren and Beppo.
