Florence Y. "Fluff" Horn, 64, passed away due to natural causes at Benefis Healthcare on Wednesday, October 6, 2021. Wake services will begin at 6:00 p.m. on Saturday, October 9, 2021, and will continue until her funeral service, which will be at 12:00 p.m. on Sunday, October 10, 2021, all at the Fort Belknap Community Center. Burial will follow in the St. Paul Mission Cemetery in Hays. Holland & Bonine Funeral Home has been entrusted with arrangements.
Fluff was born on February 13, 1957, in Fort Belknap to Bruce and Ida Mae (Cuts The Rope) Doney. She was raised in Fort Belknap, attended school in Harlem and Hays. After high school graduation, she married Donald "Duck" Horn, and the couple had three daughters. Fluff attended Fort Belknap College for a bit, and then began working for Fort Belknap Social Services. She remained there for close to 20 years, working her way up to the position of Director before her illness of Lupus caused her to retire.
Fluff was a kind, outspoken, caring woman who loved unconditionally, and spent as much time with her family as she was able. When she was younger, she spent her summers in the hay truck while her beloved husband Duck cut hay. She also enjoyed speed walking. As she got older, Fluff liked Bingo and playing the Keno machines. Watching the ID channel was also a favorite pastime. However, her absolute favorite pastime of the last 48 years was teasing her husband Duck.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Bruce and Ida Doney; brothers, John, Buzz, and Elliot Doney; sister, Letty Hawley; grandson, Liam Clark; nephew D. J. Crasco; and niece, Leah Horn.
Fluff is survived by her husband of 48 years, Donald "Duck" Horn of Fort Belknap; daughters, Donette (Bobbi) Horn, Annette (Sandy) Horn, and Lizzie (Taylor) Horn, all of Fort Belknap; five grandchildren, Talayna (Steve Messerly) Oats, Tatyana (Lance) Strike, Talyssa (Kobe Sutherland), Stormy and Skye Florence Gardipee-Walker, her Crantz grandchildren (Marley, Menzy, Maison, and Grayson); great-grandchildren, Landyn, Corleone, Luke, Mavrick, Courtlyn, and Gianna; adopted daughters, Sharlie Pat and Charlo Doney, and Marie Waggoner; sister, Violet Crasco; brother, Sam Doney; and numerous nieces, nephews, and other extended family and friends.
