Obituary

Felistis "Tissie" Bacon, 60, passed on Friday, September 11, 2020 at Northern Montana Hospital, Havre after a long illness. Private family graveside services were held on September 16, 2020 at the Pink Church Cemetery in Harlem MT. Tissie's family has suggested memorial donations be made in her memory to Eagles Manor, who opened their doors so that Tissie was able to live independently, plus she enjoyed all her neighbors' company.

Felistis was born on March 14, 1960, in Fort Belknap, Montana to Benny and Lorena "Tootie" Bacon. Five years after the deaths of her natural parents, she was adopted to New Jersey in 1972. She graduated North Hunterdon High School, Annandale NJ in 1979. After graduation she returned to and lived the rest of her life at Fort Belknap. Her aunt Georgina went to New Jersey and Tissie came back to Montana with her and never went back. She always considered Fort Belknap Home.

Tissie had a positive outlook on life and a natural ability to remember all sorts of tidbits, such as she remembered every one of her siblings, cousins and aunties birthdates. Tissie enjoyed visiting with her friends from Rocky Boy, Fort Belknap and at Eagles Manor where she resided. Tissie traveled a lot when she was young, traveling to all of the Western states, as a carnival worker. Every summer she would join the carnival as it went through Montana, she would be gone all summer and sometimes even into the winter. Then we at Fort Belknap would hear from her and then she would show back up at Fort Belknap. When she wasn't working for the carnival, she worked as a firefighter, elder caregiver, and babysitter. Tissie belonged to a big family and she loved every one of them. She will be greatly missed.

Preceding her in death were her maternal grandparents, Thelma Buck and William "Bud" Healy; paternal grandparents, Margaret Anderson and Frank Bacon; parents Benny and Lorena (Buck) Bacon; sister, Linda Bacon; adopted father, Robert Marcello; adopted brother, Joseph Marcello; beloved Aunt Georgina (Richard) (Buck) Weasel and aunt/mom, Bernadette (Buck) Striker.

Tissie enjoyed doing crafts, visiting with family and friends, and going to powwows. Most of all she loved spending time with her daughter and grandchildren.

Tissie is survived by her daughter, Shayna Bacon; grandchildren, Charlie, Brooklyn and Gabby; aunt, Annie Bacon and family from Great Falls; uncle, Dusty Buck and family from Flathead; adopted mother, Elizabeth Marcello from South Carolina; sisters, Lynette Paul and Dr. Cynthia Marcello, from New Jersey, Pamela, Gena and Bede Weasel; brothers, Rick and Michael Weasel, all from Fort Belknap, William L. "Willy" Buck, from Texas, Benny Bacon Jr., from South Dakota, and Eric Marcello from New Jersey; and other family members in Rocky Boy, Fort Belknap and New Jersey, too numerous to remember names.
