Obituary

Everett Dale WindyBoy Sr. whose Indian Name was Pus-Kwa-Mus-Tus-Kaw-pim-u-tah " Buffalo Walking",71, passed away early Saturday morning, July 27, 2024, at his residence in Havre. His wake service will begin at 4 p.m. Sunday, and continue through Monday with his traditional funeral service 10 a.m. Tuesday, July 30, 2024, at Our Saviour's Lutheran Church in Rocky Boy, Montana.

Everett was born November 29, 1952, in Zurich, Montana in a tent when it was 30 degrees below zero outside, to John and Katherine (First Raised) WindyBoy. He joined his older three siblings. In 1957 the family moved to Parker School where they lived until 1959 when the family moved to Haystack Loop Road in Rocky Boy and lived in a log house without electricity or plumbing. His sibling group grew to a total of 9! Everett attended Parker School, Rocky Boy School and graduated from Box Elder High School. He continued his education at Southwest Poly Technical Institute where he obtained his associate degree in Telecommunications. After he graduated, he was hired by Mountain Bell and lived and worked in Scobey, Montana. He later transferred to Havre where he worked in the Havre office until he retired in 1985. To keep busy Everett worked at McIntosh Seeds and later for Bear Paw Lumber.

Everett married Patty McGeshick from Wolf Point and they later divorced. He married Denise LeCompte in Havre and the couple had four children. They later divorced and he had a daughter with Mary Tahmalwash and then married Monica Morsette and they had one son.

In his younger years Everett would travel the Pow-Wow circuit as a fancy dancer with his brother Alvin. He later joined the WindyBoy brothers singing group there were 13 men who would sing traditional songs. He also enjoyed fishing, watching the Raiders play football and spending time with his grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents, one brother John who was a twin, and two sisters Kathy and Myra.

Everett is survived by his 6 children, Tanna (J.D.Peters) WindyBoy, Jaime WindyBoy, Anthony (Ashley) WindyBoy, Bazillu (LeRoy Adams) WindyBoy, Everett "Mose" Jr. (Rose) WindyBoy and Bryan WindyBoy; his 14 grandchildren; siblings, Geraldine (Howard) Racine, Alvin (Jessica) WindyBoy, Valerie, Johnathon and Cheryl WindyBoy; and numerous nieces, nephews, and extended family.
