Eva was born on April 17, 1921 to Milo Mapel Powell and Mazo Margaret McNeill Powell at Reidel, MT which is on the southeast corner of the Bear Paw Mountains in Blaine County, MT. She was the youngest, joining her sister, Pearl and her brother, Lawrence.

Eva's childhood was a busy one-herding sheep, helping her mom cook and garden along with tending the chickens and turkeys. She attended school in the summers when the school teachers would board at her house and hold school. She was always ready for a good time. At the drop of a hat, she and the neighbor kids would move the living room furniture out of the way and dance. A competitive game of cards would spark her interest as well. Her infectious laugh always filled the room and her sparkling brown eyes would twinkle.

It was at one of the local dances that the pretty little 5'1 1/2" blonde caught the eye of a handsome local boy, Maurice "Pum" Campbell. They were married on July 3, 1941 at the Methodist Parsonage in Chinook, MT. They made their early home in Chinook while Pum worked at the Sugarbeet Factory. Then moved to the Campbell Ranch in the Bear Paws. Pum and Eva had three children, Lawrence "Larry" Lee, Marcene Lynne and Leta Mazo. When it was time for Larry and Marcene to go to high school , the family moved to Chinook in 1958 where she resided until her death.

Eva was always full of energy and worked in several restaurants in Chinook. She was a great cook who could make a gourmet meal out of scraps. She was famous for her pies, in particular, her sour cream raisin pie. After several years, she went to work at Bud's IGA as a meat wrapper, a job she loved. She retired in 1975 and spent her retirement years golfing, traveling, enjoying her grandchildren and great grandchildren, sewing, playing cards, painting and visiting friends along with being the bookkeeper for Pum's business, Campbell Welding and Repair. Her house was a great coffee spot and her eyes lit up every time she heard a knock at the door.

Eva moved to the Sweet Home in Chinook, MT where she received excellent care and entertained the staff and other residents with her quick wit and sense of humor. She passed away in her sleep the morning of July 21, 2016 at Sweet Home. Eva leaves behind a legacy of courage and joy. She instilled fortitude in her children and grandchildren telling them to "Quit your bawling" when they thought life got tough.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Milo and Mazo; sister, Pearl Morgan; brother Lawrence; husband, Pum; daughter, Marcene Chapman; and grandson, Garrett McHenry.

She is survived by her son, Larry (Carol) Campbell of Bremerton , WA; daughter, Leta (Marvin Teel) Campbell of Keystone, SD; Son-in-law, Perry Chapman of Havre, MT; grandchildren, Donald (Bernice) Williams, Francene Chapman, Scott Campbell and Kristen Campbell; and great grandchildren Andrea Williams and Alan Williams.
