Obituary

Elmer "John" Allen Cure, 79, of Box Elder, MT passed away on February 4 th , 2022, in his sleep while at home.

The funeral services will be held later in the year for most of the family to be able to attend. Military honors will be provided in recognition of his years of service to our country. Elmer was born in Fort Belknap, MT on September 4 th , 1942. Upon graduating high school in 1961, he joined the US military in the Marine Corps division. In 4 years of services to this country, he fought in the Vietnam war and became a Lance Corporal E-3 with many honors on his badge. Elmer Cure was honorably discharged from the military and went into the horse-trading business that he was so well known for. Later in life, he met Ina Thompson and together they raised 5 children. Elmer was a silently stern man who had a firm hand with a loving heart. He was one of the "good ole boys" through and through and was one hard-working son of a gun.

Elmer was preceded in death by many family and friends including; parents: Allen Cure & Alice Doney; daughter: Wanetta Thompson; grandson: Michael Williams; and uncles: Leonard Doney & Elmer Cure.

Elmer is survived by his life partner: Ina Thompson; his children: Jennifer (Mike)
Williams, Aleta (Scott) Payne, Marvin Cure, & Dale (Sam) Cure; sisters: Shirlee (Wayne) Brillhart & Carol Jean Koontz; aunt: Edna Teske; grandchildren: KayCee & Stephen (Kasey) Williams, McKenna, Shelbi, & Kyalin Payne, Everly Cure, Adrian & Dallas Fourstar; & great grandchildren: Tealynn, Azalea, Leiana, & Jackson Williams; cousins; nieces & nephews; and other extended family and friends.

The family of Elmer "John" Allen Cure thanks everyone for their kind words, stories and love during this difficult time.
