Elena
Clontz
April 30, 1920 – November 20, 2025
Elena Bolta Clontz was welcomed into the arms of Jesus on November 20th, 2025, surrounded by a loving family after 105 incredible years spent on this earth. Always a devoted Christian who loved to share her faith, we find hope in the promise of eternal life. Services are scheduled at Holland and Bonine Funeral Home in Havre, Montana on Saturday, November 29th, 2025. Viewing at 11:00am with a funeral service at 12:00 Noon. Burial immediately following at Highland Cemetery.
Elena was born to George and Anna (Surean) Bolta on April 30th, 1920, in Havre, Montana. Growing up in Havre and graduating from Havre High School. She married John J. Clontz in 1939 and together they were blessed with 3 beautiful children: John Joseph (1940), Francine Elena (1946) and Thomas David (1948). For many years, Elena maintained a warm and welcoming family home on the ranch south of Havre.
Outside of the home, she worked as a telephone operator in the 1940s and was a caregiver to many, both as a career as well as just out of the goodness of her heart. She also enjoyed helping her sister, Keva run the Symes Hotel in Hot Springs, Montana.
With her camera always near, Elena was present at every family event she could get herself to. Always with a bright smile and unmistakable giggle - both of which will be dearly missed. In 2015, she moved to Kalispell, Montana to be closer to family, where she continued to enjoy visits and spending precious time with her family who were fortunate enough to have her in their lives.
Elena was preceded in death by her parents, George and Anna Bolta; her siblings, Ann McLain, Keva Symes, John Bolta, Nicolas Bolta, Mary McCain and George Bolta Jr.
She is survived by her children, John Clontz and his wife Hanna of Gold Canyon, AZ, Francine (Clontz) Reithmeier of Kalispell, MT and Thomas Clontz and his wife Kim Brooks of Hot Springs, MT. Grandchildren: Kastine (Joe) Cameron, John Joseph "Joey" Clontz III, Justin (Nikole) Clontz, Sean Reithmeier, Lance (Amy) Reithmeier, Michael Daniels, Shantell Dunkel, Neil (Mandy) Clontz, Rochelle (Jeff) Passey, 16 great grandchildren and 9 great-great grandchildren.
We are so grateful for all those that have cared for Elena during her final years. Your compassion, dedication and love extended to her is so deeply valued and appreciated.
