Elaine Lee Chandler, 49, passed away due to natural causes on Friday, July 1, 2016, at Northern Montana Hospital.

Elaine was born on December 5, 1966, in Havre, Montana, to James and Bessie (Raining Bird) Chandler. She was raised in Rocky Boy, attending school there. Soon after her school years were over, she had her son Troy, and spent the next 20 years caring for him and taking care of her home. In 2006, she met her late husband Leland Collins, and the couple spent the past 10 years together. Leland passed away in April 2016.

Elaine enjoyed crosswords, word searches, old television shows, and playing cards. She liked to go out walking, and pick berries, and she loved to cook and visit with her friends and family.

Elaine was preceded in death by her husband Leland Collins; her parents James and Bessie Chandler; and her sister Carmie Chandler.

She is survived by her son Troy Chandler of Shelby; her adopted daughter Sharla Chandler of Great Falls; her sisters Barbara (Joe) Duboise of Box Elder and Selena Valdez of Havre; her brothers Algie (Margaret) Piapot of Rocky Boy, Larry Piapot of Salt Lake City, UT, Kenny Piapot of Havre, and Russell (Theresa) Piapot of Rocky Boy; and numerous beloved aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, nephews, and other extended family and friends.
