Edward was born on November 5,1923 in White Plains, NY to Edward and Violet (Burns) Casolaro. He attended school and was raised in White Plains. In 1946 Edward married Mary Rose Mondello and the couple had two children. Edward and Mary moved many places though his work within the military ultimately settling in Montana. He was a veteran of WWII, Korea, and Vietnam and served as Base Commander of Malmstrom Air Force Base.

He is preceded in death by his wife of 52 years, Mary.

Edward is survived by his children, Gail Oldfield and Cass Casolaro, both of Havre.
