Duane A. Kvande was born on January 1, 1958, in Williston, North Dakota. He passed away on Sunday, June 14, 2026, at his home in Longview, Washington.

Duane grew up in Havre, Montana, the only son of Trig and Tracy Kvande. He had three older sisters who loved having a little brother.

After graduating from Havre High, Duane enlisted in the Army National Guard. He served all over Montana and Washington with them, even completing a tour of duty in Kuwait. After 18 years, Duane received an honorable discharge. He lived most of his adult life in Longview, Washington, where he met and married the love of his life, Linda Mae Chapman, in September of 2006. Following Linda’s death in 2019 and his first heart attack in 2021, Duane retired from his over-the-road truck driving job, but he stayed in Longview.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Trig and Tracy Kvande; wife, Linda Kvande; three sisters, Joyce Kvande, Nancy McCracken, and Paddy Damschon.

Duane is survived by his sister, Sally (David) Chvililcek; brother-in-law, Mac (Dee) McCracken; four nieces; two nephews; and Linda’s children whom he loved very much and they all loved him.

Cremation has taken place, and interment will take place at 4:00 p.m. on Friday, August 7, 2026, in Highland Cemetery. Holland & Bonine Funeral Home has been entrusted with arrangements.
