Dorothy was born on August 15, 1930, in Havre to Wilford and Marie (Shinners) Cole. She was raised in Havre, attending St. Jude Catholic School, and graduating from Central High School. On May 9, 1950, she married Edmond Solomon, and the couple had 9 children. They later divorced. Dorothy spent her time raising and caring for her children and their home.
She enjoyed reading, swimming, walking, camping, and picnics in Pepin and Beaver Creek Parks. Dorothy adored her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She was a very active member of daily mass for many years at St. Jude and a past member of the Catholic Daughters of America. She possessed an unusual sense of humor, and her kids say that she was "always in a hurry". They would like to express their appreciation and thanks to all those who helped Dorothy in the past few years.
She was preceded in death by her son Clifton Solomon; her grandson Jeremy Solomon; her parents Wilford and Marie Cole; her sisters Della Pimley and Jean Stengem; and her brothers Bill and Dick Cole.
Dorothy is survived by her children Pam (Bruce) Finneman, Jack (Patti) Solomon, Tim (Krista) Solomon, Debbie (Raymond) Kallenberger, and Mary (Randy) Owens, all of Havre, Jeff (Candi) Solomon of Winifred, MT, Cindy (Earl) Barta of Buffalo, MT, and Vickie (Tom) Ophus of Conrad, MT; her 32 grandchildren; her 58 great-grandchildren with three more on the way; her sisters, Thelma McLain, Lois Waller, and Ann LaCroix; her brothers Jim and Tom Cole; and numerous nieces and nephews.
