Donna Marie (Hafdahl) Stockdill passed away due to natural causes at her residence on Tuesday, July 30, 2024.  Cremation has taken place, and memorial services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Friday, August 9, 2024, at Messiah Lutheran Church.  Burial will follow in Highland Cemetery.  Donna's family has suggested memorial donations be made in her memory to Messiah Lutheran Church or the charity of the donor's choice.  Holland & Bonine Funeral Home has been entrusted with services and arrangements.

Donna was born on July 19, 1932, in Havre, Montana, to Knute and Marie (Johnstad) Hafdahl.  She was one of seven children, with four brothers and two sisters.  The family moved around the Havre area and their father worked for the H. Earl Clack Store.

A lifelong resident of Havre, Donna accomplished many things and had a wonderful life in Havre.  She met her husband of 53 years, James Kenneth Stockdill, in Havre.  She graduated as a Havre Blue Pony in 1950 and attended college at Northern, graduating in 1952.  She also attended college in Missoula at the University of Montana.  She went to work for the United States Immigration and Naturalization service and, after college, went to work at the United States Border Patrol.  When she and Ken began their family, Donna stayed home to raise her boys, David and Scott, a job she dearly loved.

Donna was baptized and confirmed at the First Lutheran Church in Havre, and in 1963, became a charter member of the Messiah Lutheran Church where she was a faithful worshipper and worker.

Donna enjoyed her Thursday bowling league, reading mystery novels, knitting, crocheting, and embroidery.  She also enjoyed golfing and camping in the Bear Paw Mountains with her family and friends up in "Goofy Coulee".

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, James Kenneth Stockdill in 2008; brothers, Raymond, Melvin, and William Hafdahl; and sisters, Helen Hanning and Marguerite "Betty" Williams.

Donna is survived by her two sons, David and Scott Stockdill; three grandsons, Ryan, Jay, and Joey; six great-grandchildren, Ryana, Trenton, Owen, Hadley, Piper, and Emmit; and numerous nieces and nephews.
