Donald was born on April 27, 1965, to William Douglas and Evelyn June (Huntley) Cochran in Havre, Montana.  He attended elementary school in Bellingham, Washington, graduating from Harlem High School in 1984.  During his school years, Donald was a very good athlete.  He enjoyed boxing, winning many trophies, and even boxing at Nationals.  In 1984, he enlisted in the US Marine Corp, serving until 1985, when he switched to the Army National Guard.  For many years, Donald worked various jobs, but carpentry was his trade.  He also worked for many seasons as a wildlands firefighter, protecting the land from that devastation.

Donald enjoyed fishing and hunting with family and friends.  Making dreamcatchers was a relaxing pastime for him, and he enjoyed watching sports, especially football.  Donald was very musical as well, writing his own songs.  Spending time with family and friends was incredibly important to him.

He was preceded in death by his infant daughter, Mary O. Cochran; father, William D. Cochran; sisters, Mavin and Evelyn Cochran; brother Darrell Cochran; and grandparents, Willie and Marie Cochran, and Fred and Lucy Huntley.
